Outreach Ministries (Pastoral Care)

The Pastoral Care staff extends prayer and compassionate ministry through personal visitations to those who are hospitalized in the area hospitals. Recent changes in the law have limited the patient information that hospitals can give upon request, so it is necessary to contact the Outreach Ministries to report any admissions or surgical procedures. You may call the office at 225-769-6198 during regular office hours or 225-751-4656 when the office is closed. Visits are normally made within twenty-four hours of the notification. However, emergencies are an exception.

Homebound

The Outreach Ministries staff extends personal ministry with monthly visits to those members who are confined to home or in facilities such as nursing homes and assisted living. In addition to the convalescent care staff, homebound ministry volunteers maintain regular contact with the homebound members through monthly visits, cards, and phone calls.

Bereavement

Families share their grief at the passing away of a loved one. The Word of Faith family is no exception. We endeavor to wrap our arms of compassion, faith, and comfort around families who have suffered loss. When we are made aware of a loss, one of the Pastoral Care staff immediately attempts to contact a family member to express our condolences for the loss, to pray for the family, and to offer any assistance that the family may request.

Hospice Care

When members are diagnosed with a terminal illness and are placed in Hospice care, the convalescent ministry works with Hospice personnel to provide prayerful, compassionate, and supportive ministry to both the terminally ill member and their family. This is done through the office of Pastoral Care.

Van Care Ministry

Recognizing that dependable transportation is essential in today's world, Word of Faith Van Care Ministry provides free, basic, preventative maintenance (transportation) to Word of Faith members who are college students, widows, and single mothers.
