Transmission Services
The transmission services we provide are:
Performance Check
Before any service or repairs are done on your vehicle, a performance check is completed to help us diagnose any problems. This free service usually takes about 2 hours to complete. It is best to drop off your vehicle for this service. When possible, we will be glad to help provide you with a ride back to your home or office.
External Service
External service is defined as any service not requiring the removal of the transmission. This type of service usually takes between 1 and 4 hours. This time frame does not include the performance check.
Internal Service/Overhaul Service
An internal service is one that requires removal of the transmission to determine if an overhaul is required. If overhaul service is required, it usually takes 2 to 3 days to complete. At times, parts have to be ordered, which may cause a further delay. The procedure includes removal of the transmission, examination of all parts, flushing of the transmission cooling system, restoring the transmission to factory-operating condition, and installing the unit back into the vehicle.
Quality Control Checks
Quality control checks must be completed to ensure proper operation of your vehicle's transmission. These checks take nearly a full day to complete. You also will be asked to return to the shop about 10 days following quality control checks so the transmission can receive a final check.
