Tips

When it comes to choosing a childcare facility for your child you want the best quality for a reasonable price. Here are some tips to help make your decision a little easier:

Pay Attention: When you are visiting a potential childcare facility, pay attention to how the staff is interacting with the children. It is important that the person who is watching your child is warm and responsive, especially to infants.

Ask for a commitment: Your child has to be with the caregiver for most of the day. Be sure to check out their credentials first. Ask how long the caregiver has been in the business and how long they have been working at the facility. Ask if they have a commitment form that they fill out and can give to you.

Do a policy check: Make sure you are on the same page with the facility on topics such as discipline, feeding, sleep time, etc.

Trust your gut: When something does not feel right, check up on it. Drop by unannounced to observe. You want the best for your child. If something does not feel right, search other options.
