I can't even begin to say how inspiring that young man is and how impressed with him I am. Cody made my whole day and the way his smile lights up a room is magical. Cody and his parents are both truly blessed, and absolutely wonderful people, and I would like to thank them for the things they are doing to benefit other children and even adults with special needs. You are a very special young man, Cody. I wish you nothing but peace and happiness. Best wishes from Georgia.

Hi there friends, We live in NH and just saw Cody on a re-run of Ellen Degeneres today. My mother called to tell my husband that there was a 6 year old double amputee running races. I instantly thought of Oscar, the fastest man with no legs, who tried out for the Olympics. He must be an inspiration to Cody. I would like to say that as a parent of a 2 year old amputee I am so inspired by Cody. Our sons name is Carter and he was born with severe birth defects on all 4 limbs. He has fibula hememelia in his left leg (abscense of fibula) and he also had a bent tibia in that leg. His foot only had 3 toes and was missing many bones. His right foot is missing one toe. He has a congenital amputation of his left arm just below the elbow. He also is missing his pinky on his right hand, had one webbed finger and 2 fused fingers. He has had 4 surgeries in his short life. At 6 months old they amputated his leg below the knee and straightened his tibia with a pin. Without the amputation he would never have been able to walk on that foot. His 2nd surgery they removed a small nubbin thumb from his little arm and seperated his webbed finger. His 3rd surgery they removed the pin from his tibia. His most recent surgery they revised his amputation and shortened his leg. He got his 1st leg and arm prosthetic at 8 months old. He walks, runs, climbs and does everything his BIG brother, Chase, does. He is now getting fitted for his 3rd prosthetic leg and will receive a more sophisticated foot. We have seen so many inspiring stories but none like your son Cody. To see such a young child accomplish so much is amazing. We know in our hearts our son will be as determined as Cody. We have been through so much in the past 2 years and it helps to know that we are not the only parents out there who face these struggles. If you are ever near NH we would love to meet your family. Please tell Cody he made our day with his story and we will follow his story forever. The Meads Kelli, Mike, Chase and Carter

Hello Dear Cody & Family,
I wanted to thank you for sharing your inspiring story with us all. As I watched the Ellen show yesterday with my mom. I couldn't help but to watch Cody in awe as tears slid down my cheeks. What a beam of joy you are, Cody. Your bright spirit has inspired me to carry on through anything. I printed out a copy of your "Team Cody" section with your picture and am planning on posting it on a bulliten board in my dorm room to help remind me that we can all achieve anything we set our minds to.
Thank you, Cody! Keep reaching for the stars!

Hi, my name is Charlotte I live in the UK. I have a two year old son , Xander who was born with fibular hemimelia. I just wanted to say that the photos of Cody are an inspiration. I have a lot to do with a Uk based charity called steps that help families coping with lower limb abnormalities. www.steps-charity.org.uk There is a really good forum where families from all over chat and support each other. It would be brilliant if you could add Codys story as it really is inspirational. Thank you for sharing your photos of an amazing little boy.

Hi Cody!!! I just watched your mom, dad and yourself on Dateline. I'm a 21 female from a city just outside of Toronto, ON, Canada and have been truly inspired by you. Although I do not have a story nearly as inspiring as you do, I have gone through a lot with my family, especially my mom. She has had a lot of medical problems in the past, and the last (a brain anneurism) has really taken its toll on me. I have always had pride in myself for being what I consider to be a strong person, and it is truly people like you Cody who make me see the world differently. I know your still younge buddy and you probably don't understand what all these people are telling you, but simply put, you're just super super cool. I'm an athlete as well and have been playing soccer for 17 years now! If you are EVER near Toronto or in Ontario, please send me an email! I would love to show you around. Maybe I could even take you to a Toronto Raptors game or a Toronto Blue Jays game...whatever you like :) Anyways Cody I would love to join your team and even though you don't know me, I'm a pretty cool chick and I'm always here for anything you need!

I saw your story on Dateline MSNBC. What can I say but you are truly inspiring. I too have a disability and it happens to be that I am hearing impaired in both ears. Like you, I don' look at it as a disability but something that gives me motivation to do the best I can each day with what God has given me and to help inspire others.
I was inspired about what you did for the little boy by giving him running prostheses. I think that is wonderful and hope he enjoys them. The way I give back is by participating in the Walk4Hearing which will be head in Boston near where I live in October...I hope to raise a good amount of money for the cause to support the hearing loss community.
I wish you the best of luck in your future endeavors and hope you make the Paraolympics in the future.

My sister called tonight and told my son he was on tv...to our surprise there you were-just like my son! The second he saw your running legs he called his prosthetist and told him that he told him so...he can have the running legs without bending at the knee...you made his day! Like you, Christian is active in sports and lets nothing slow him down...he too started out at Scottish Rite in Dallas! He swims, sails, plays sled hockey, soccer and is dying to run really FAST! We've always wanted to attend CAF events but they are too far for us. If you ever have an event in New England, please let us know...Christian would LOVE to meet and RUN with other kids like him!!
Keep up the great work...kick some butt!!

Cody is also my hero. I was having a particularly rotten day last week and someone sent me an email with pictures of Cody involved in various activities. The thing that stood out in every one of them was his infectious smile. It made me ashamed that I was letting soh insignificant things get the better of me. Cody is an inspiration and his picture is now my computer wallpaper at work. When things start bothering me, I toggle to him and he reminds me that, instead of getting frustrated, I should smile. And this seems to help co-workers with similar attitude adjustments. Thank you Cody. Keep that positive attitude. You're my hero.
