purpose is to provide our patients with the most advanced

optimum health and performance. They include...
Chiropractic
Care
Chiropractic is a health care discipline that emphasizes the
inherent recuperative power of the body to heal itself without
the use of drugs or surgery. The practice of chiropractic
focuses on the relationship between structure (primarily the
spine) and function (as coordinated by the nervous system)
and how that relationship affects the preservation and restoration
of health. In addition, doctors of chiropractic recognize
the value and responsibility of working in cooperation with
other health care practitioners when in the best interest
of the patient.
Most
chiropractic physicians use spinal manipulative therapy (a
hands on approach to restoring joint function and alignment).
During that process you may hear and feel the usual clicking
sound of the joint being mobilized. Not all patients are able
to have this type of chiropractic adjustment whether or not
indicated due to a specific health problem or just apprehension.
Dr. Oliveri has been trained in spinal non-force techniques,
which are effective and safe for people with osteoporosis
(bone loss of aging) and other conditions such as herniated
(slipped) spinal discs.
It is
important to understand that health is a state of complete
physical, mental and social well being and not merely the
absence of disease or infirmity. The purpose of chiropractic
is not merely to relieve a symptom or address a cause of that
symptom, important as these things may be to the patient,
but to provide holistic care and to optimize health.
Acupuncture
Acupuncture can work and it's not all in your head.
The 2500
year old healing art has it's basis on the theory that there
are patterns of energy flow called QI, (pronounced chee) through
the body that are essential for health. Disruptions of this
flow are believed to be responsible for disease. Acupuncture
may correct imbalances of flow at identifiable points close
to the skin and improve health and well-being.
Modern
scientific research reports acupuncture triggers the body
to release natural substances in the nerve cells of the brain
and body tissues to be released helping the body to heal naturally
without side effects. A current theory explaining how acupuncture
may work is:
An acupuncture needle stimulates sensory nerves in the skin
triggering electrical impulses to the spinal cord, which signals:
- Nerve
cells to release Endorphins (chemicals that stop pain and
stimulates sense of well being. This is what causes the
"Runners High")
- The
midbrain releases neurotransmitters (to block pain).
- The
pituitary gland to deliver Endorphins and anti-inflammatory
chemical into the surrounding brain tissue and bloodstream.
This
all adds up to pain relief, healing & a sense of well
being without harmful side effects. More research is needed
to better understand how acupuncture affects our health. In
the meantime, a panel of scientists, researchers, and practitioners
at the National Institute of Health has compiled a list of
conditions, which can respond favorably to acupuncture without
harmful side effects.

The World
Health Organization has a list of more than 40 conditions
for which acupuncture may be used. Acupuncture has stood the
test of time, but remember it is not a magic bullet; nothing
is. Health is a complete balance of mind, body, and spirit,
but it can be one tool in your health care arsenal.
Dr. Oliveri
was trained at the University of Miami's School of Medicine
Division of Complimentary Medicine and has been licensed to
practice acupuncture since 1995.
Physical
Therapy
Electrical muscle stimulation, ultrasound, moist heat, cryotherapy
and traction is used in many instances prior to specific chiropractic
manipulation in order to reduce muscle spasm and decrease
pain.
Diagnostic Referral Services
Dr. Oliveri works closely with the local diagnostic facilities in the instance where Radiographs, MRI, Bone Scans or other diagnostic studies may be indicated to obtain a proper diagnosis for your condition.
Therapeutic

Utilizing eastern and western techniques to relieve spasms,
pain and tension. Gift Certificates are available.
Cold Laser Therapy
Low level laser therapy (LLLT) is a light source treatment that generates light of a single wavelength. LLLT emits no heat, sound, or vibration. Instead of producing a thermal effect, LLLT may act via nonthermal or photochemical reactions in the cells, also referred to as photobiology or biostimulation.
Laser radiation and monochromatic light may alter cell and tissue function. Laboratory studies suggest that irradiation stimulates collagen production, alters DNA synthesis, and improves the function of damaged neurological tissue. Several mechanisms underlying therapeutic effects with LLLT have been suggested. Theories include:
- Increased ATP production by the mitochondria and increased oxygen consumption on the cellular level, which may result in muscle relaxation
- Increased serotonin and increased endorphins, the bodies own pain relievers
- Increased anti-inflammatory effects through reduced prostaglandin synthesis
- Improved blood circulation to the skin in cases like neuralgia and diabetes mellitus
- Decreases permeability of the membrane of the nerve cells for Na/K causing hyperpolarisation
- Increased lymphatic flow and decreased edema
Effective treatment for:
Musculoskeletal injuries, Back/Neck pain, Sprains and Strains, Tendonitis, TMJ Syndrome, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome and more.
Graston Technique
Graston Technique is an innovative, patented form of instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization that enables clinicians to effectively break down scar tissue and fascial restrictions. The Technique utilizes specially designed stainless steel instruments to specifically detect and effectively treat areas exhibiting soft tissue fibrosis or chronic inflammation.
