I get scaly red places on the sides of my nose. What is this rash and what can be done to treat it? The rash that you are describing sounds like seborrheic dermatitis. It is a very common condition and is thought to be caused by a hypersensitivity to a common yeast. For reasons that we do not fully understand, the yeast causes this rash in some people while others have no problem from it.
