Bob
has been practicing Social Security law since 1980. The first eight
years were as an attorney for the Social Security Administration,
including work as the Supervising Attorney for the Raleigh Office
of Hearings and Appeals, where he supervised the lawyers who wrote
decisions for the Administrative Law Judges who hear disability cases.
He also advised the Chief Judges on unusual legal matters such as
Medicare cases, suspensions of doctors convicted of Medicare and Medicaid
fraud, and similar matters.
He has been representing North Carolina claimants for Social Security
benefits since 1988, having successfully represented several thousand
people in a variety of Social Security cases. Most of these have been
disability claims.
Bob grew up in Wisconsin where he attended both college and law school.
He worked all three years of Law School for the Wisconsin Department
of Natural Resources in environmental enforcement and resources planning.
He attended law school later in life than many people, having had
a variety of experiences between college and law school. These included
time in the Peace Corps and teaching high school science. Bob belongs
to the State Bars of North Carolina and Wisconsin and is admitted
to practice before several Federal courts. He is a member of the North
Carolina and Wisconsin Bar Associations, the Academy of Trial Lawyers,
the National Organization of Social Security Claimant's Representatives,
and several charitable and service organizations.
Kevin
is from Cary, North Carolina. He graduated cum laude with a Bachelor
of Science from Campbell University in 1984. He graduated with a Juris
Doctor from Wake Forest University School of Law, 1987, and then was
admitted to practice law in the State of North Carolina. Kevin also
was admitted to practice law in the United States Courts for both
the Eastern District and the Middle District of North Carolina. Kevin
was employed as an attorney advisor with Social Security's Office
of Hearing and Appeals, from 1988 to 1992. He has been in private
practice limited to Social Security disability, from 1993 to the present.
He is a member of the North Carolina Bar Association, the Wake County
Bar Association, and the National Organization of Social Security
Claimant's Representatives. He is active in sports both as a fan and
as an athlete.
Laurie
Burch lives in Smithfield with her husband Ricky. She and her husband
are active in their community. Laurie is a member of the Vestry of
St. Paul's Episcopal Church. She is a Brownie Girl Scout Leader. She
has also served on various boards in her community.
Laurie enjoys bicycling and rides in the MS 150, a 150-mile bike ride
to raise money for and awareness of Multiple Sclerosis. She also enjoys
working in her yard. And most of all, she enjoys walking her two dogs.
Laurie went to Wake Forest University and received bachelors of arts
degrees in Religion and Politics. She went to Campbell University
Law School. She has concentrated her practice in Social Security Law
since 1990. She is a member of the National Organization of Social
Security Claimant's Representatives. |
