About Us
Over three decades ago, Ruth B. Crawford, a retired Augusta teacher, envisioned a new community center that would connect senior citizens, young people, and friends in a unique intergenerational environment. In 1977, a group of dedicated volunteers created Shiloh Comprehensive Community Center. The center, now on the National Register of Historic Places, makes its home at the 95-year-old site of Augusta's former Shiloh Orphanage.
Today, Shiloh's staff, volunteers, participants, and its current executive director, Tonda Booker, continue to bring new life to this historic community hub.
We offer many programs that are beneficial to the whole community. Some of those programs include:
- Recreation
- Enrichment Activities
- Weekly Meals for Seniors and Friends
- Medical Screenings
- Health Screenings and Health Education for Seniors
- Monthly Food Distribution to Seniors In Need
- Project YES – Youth Male Initiative and Collaboration with Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity
