BIOGRAPHY
Dr.
Schreiber began a simultaneous interest in art and medicine at a very
early age. Growing up in small town Canfield, Ohio in a medical family
(physician father and nurse mother), he was sent off for art lessons
at age 8. He kept up his interest in art throughout his primary and
secondary schooling and graduated Valedictorian of his high school class
in 1973. He then attended Wittenberg University in Springfield, Ohio,
where he double-majored in Biology and Fine Art and graduated Magna
Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in 1977.
Having already been accepted to medical school at the University of
Cincinnati, Ohio, he deferred his admission and took a year off to travel
and concentrate on his art. It was at this time that he "discovered"
that plastic surgery would be the perfect blending of both worlds, and
set about designing the next 12 years of his medical education and training
towards that goal. He completed a prerequisite general surgery residency
at St. Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, New Jersey, before entering
the plastic residency program at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial
Hospital. It was there, under the training and influence of internationally
known plastic surgeon D. Ralph Millard, Jr., M.D., that all of his previous
plastic surgery experiences came together.
Upon completion of his training, he opened his plastic surgery practice
in Boynton Beach in 1990. Originally on staff at Bethesda Hospital,
Delray Medical Center and JFK Medical Center, his practice is now devoted
to aesthetic surgery based out of his nationally accredited surgery
and recovery center, The Plastic Surgery Art Centre. Dr. Schreiber is
married with two teenage daughters, and continues to create art, travel
and enjoy many outdoor activities in his spare time.
