History
For over 50 years we have served the Raleigh area as a family owned and operated business. We take great pride in the fact most of our customers are repeat customers who, in turn, recommend us to their friends and neighbors.
In 1957, Mr. George Rose left his employment with a local dealership to open his own business, Rose Transmission Repair on South Sanders Street.
At the same time, a neighbor for Mr. Rose, Mr. Steve Hayes, opened a garage, Supreme Brake and Alignment at 419 Glenwood Avenue. In time, three of Mr. Roses' sons (Kenneth, Gurney and Bob) came to work for their dad and the name was changed to Rose and Sons Auto Service. The scope was expanded to include general auto repair in addition to specializing in transmissions. The business was relocated to its present location in the early 1980s.
Meanwhile, Mr. Steve Hayes's son, Bruce, returned from military service and went to work for his dad at Supreme Brake and Alignment. Eventually, the sons assumed control of each business and continued to operate at the respective locations.
In 1993, Mr. Freddie Braswell purchased Supreme Brake and Alignment pending the retirement of Bruce Hayes. He brought three sons, Scott, Keith and Chris to work and continue the excellent reputation of Supreme Brake and Alignment. In November 2004, Mr. Braswell sold the real estate location on Glenwood and merged the business with Rose and Son's Auto at the 410 W. South Street location. Another son, Brent Braswell joined the business at that time.
Today, you can expect the same attention to detail and excellent service our customers have received for over 50 years.
