Q: Why do I need to have gutters?
A: The purpose of a gutter system is to allow water to be moved away from your foundation. Without gutters, moisture would flood the area around your foundation causing basement leaks, mold, fungi, and other unwanted problems.

Q: How do I know when it's time to replace my gutters?
A: The first sign of rust is one good indication. Appearing as little orange speckles, they show through the paint and will develop rusty colored stains at the end of the downspouts. Indicators such as rust can be spotted via regular maintenance procedures.

Q: How are gutters sized?
A: Gutters are often sized according to the roof area they drain

        * 5" K-style gutters are the residential industry's standard.
        * 6" K-style gutters are used for larger roofs.

Q: What type of gutter is right for my home?
A: We recommend that you choose a gutter system that is durable and that comes with a warranty to prove it. Aluminum gutters and downspouts are thick and durable enough to withstand the elements. An alternative to aluminum is copper. Copper roof drainage products don't rust or pit like ordinary aluminum gutter products and are actually stronger. Our technicians can help you decide which system will work best for you.

Q: How do I maintain a free-flowing gutter system?
A: In order to maintain a free-flowing and clog-free gutter system, remove leaves, acorns, sticks and other debris using a hose. You may also consider having gutter screens or gutter covers installed. Gutter covers will prevent debris from entering the gutter.
