We make every effort to be sure we are giving our customers the best products possible. We monitor every facet of the remanufacturing process and make sure that every part going into the final product is a quality part.
We research all casting numbers, machining processes, new part vendor selections and product applications. We also train our operators to be familiar with product features and processes. This isolates any problems that could occur in the future and gets them taken care of immediately.
We always disassemble and inspect all cores and dispose all that are not up to our standards. We thoroughly clean all parts and examine all tolerances. We bake all of the major parts in our gas-fired oven. This carbonizes all the dirt and grease. All other parts go through a thorough chemical cleaning process. We then use a blaster to remove any contaminants that may have made it past our previous process. We also magnaflux all crankcases and cylinder heads to check for cracks.
For All Crankcases
- We replace all freeze plugs.
- We also pressure check all water cavities.
- We tap and drill all holes.
- We clean and repair (if needed) all passages.
- We make sure all dimensions for cylinder bores are correct.
- We size all bores to make sure that we always meet all surface finish requirements.
- We make sure that all main bearing boxes are line honed. This ensures that they are all the same size and alignment.
- We replace all new cam bearings. We also inspect their spin.
- All crankcases are given a thorough wash to remove any contaminants that may be present.
For All Crankshafts
- We check all cranks for straightness.
- We make sure all journals are up to our high process standards.
- All stress risers are removed from the reground journals to prevent any future crankshaft damage.
- We chamfer all oil holes to remove any sharp edges that may obstruct oil flow.
For All Connecting Rods
- We check all rods for any damage.
- We resize all crankshaft bores.
- We replace all piston pin bore bushings.
- We measure the length of the rod (center to center) to make sure they are up to process standards.
For All Camshafts
- We clean and inspect all cams for straightness as well as lobe conformity.
- We polish all lobes.
- If necessary, we replace them.
For All Cylinder Heads
- We replace all cap plugs.
- We pressure test all cylinder heads.
- We inspect all decks to make sure they are up to required standards.
- We resize or replace all valve guides.
- We remachine all valve scats with three angle cutters.
- We replace all older heads with hardened scats. This allows proper operation with unleaded gasoline.
- We vacuum check each valve.
