Your privacy is important to us. To better protect your privacy, we provide this notice explaining our online information practices and the choices you can make about the way your information is collected and used.
Who We Are
In this Privacy Notice, "you," "your" and "yours" refer to you, the end user of our e-store. "We," "us," "our" and "ours" do not include you but refer to us, the owner of the e-store. Contact and other information about us may be found at our e-store. Netopia, Inc. ("Netopia") hosts and maintains our e-store on the Internet and operates www.netopia.com. Intelligent Media Ventures, LLC ("IntelliVentures") helped us design our e-store, performs certain ongoing functions for us and other e-store owners, and operates www.realpages.com. We may have other web sites, but this Privacy Notice applies to all information collected or submitted as a result of your visit to our e-store.
The Information Collected
To order products, make requests or register to receive materials, it will be necessary for you to provide contact information (such as name, address, email address, shipping address, phone number, credit/debit card and order information). If you register with us, you will receive a username and password for your convenience in making future orders.
When you submit information about other people (for example, when you order a gift online and want it sent directly to the recipient), you will be asked to submit personally identifiable information about them (such as name, address and phone number).
Any time you interact with our e-store, you automatically provide information that can be collected, whether or not you fill out our forms. For example, like many websites, our e-store uses "cookies," as discussed below, to collect information such as your preferences, status and settings. Netopia automatically collects and analyzes information such as your Internet protocol (IP) address; computer and connection information such as browser type and version, operating system and platform; purchase history; your URL clickstream to, through and from our e-store, including date and time; cookie number; products you viewed or searched for; and the phone number used to call us. This information can be used to personalize your visits to our e-store and make them more enjoyable and less time-consuming.
The Way We Use Information
Netopia collects the information from our e-store and relays to us what we need to serve you. Netopia will share the information it has with IntelliVentures, except for credit/debit card or other payment data. Neither we nor Netopia nor IntelliVentures will sell, distribute, disclose, share, rent, use or otherwise make this information available to third parties in ways that differ from those disclosed in this Privacy Notice.
We use the information you provide when placing an order only to complete the order. For example, we use your return email address to answer the email you send us and to notify you about the order. We share this information with others, such as a shipper or a credit card processor, but only to the extent necessary to complete the order.
If you so choose, we may also use your name and email address to send you newsletters and other forms of email to inform you about special product offerings or other opportunities for which you have expressed interest.
We may collect basic non-identifying and aggregate information, such as the number of visitors to our e-store, to gauge its effectiveness. Netopia collects and analyzes non-identifying and aggregate information from our e-store and others to improve our e-store and to make your experience at our e-store more meaningful. Netopia will share such information with advertisers, subcontractors and other affiliated businesses, but without disclosing personally identifiable information.
Netopia uses IP addresses to analyze trends, administer the site, track the movement of users and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use. IP addresses are not linked to personally identifiable information.
Finally, we do not use or share the personally identifiable information provided to us online in ways unrelated to the ones described above without also providing you an opportunity to "opt out" or otherwise prohibit such unrelated uses.
We, Netopia and IntelliVentures reserve the right to release personally identifiable information to comply with law; enforce or apply this Privacy Notice or other agreements; or protect their rights, property or safety and that of our e-store and its users. These circumstances include exchanging information with others for fraud protection and credit risk reduction.
Cookies
Our e-store uses a technology called cookies to provide you with tailored information. A cookie is a file that a website can send to your browser and is intended to make Internet use easier and quicker. Our cookie contains information about you such as preferences, status and settings, and is stored only on your hard drive. For instance, a cookie may contain a password allowing you to log in automatically, thereby saving time. Cookies can also be used to track and target your interests to enhance your experience in our e-store.

Children's Privacy
Protecting the privacy of the very young is especially important. Children should always ask their parents or guardians for permission before disclosing any information online. For these reasons, anyone under 18 must obtain parental permission to place orders in an e-store, and children under 13 may not make purchases or provide information. We will never collect or maintain information from those we actually know are under 13.

Our e-store may contain links to other sites. Links may appear in a number of different forms, such as advertising, additional information or frames. We encourage you to check the address of each site you enter, be aware when you leave our site and read the privacy statements of every website you visit. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of other sites. This Privacy Notice applies solely to information collected at our e-store.
Revisions
Because of the evolving nature of the technologies involved and the way that business is conducted on the Internet, this Privacy Notice may be revised from time to time. Any revisions will be posted on this site so you can be aware of what information is collected, how it is used and under what circumstances, if any, it is disclosed.
If at any point we decide to use personally identifiable information in a manner different from that stated at the time it was collected, we will notify you by email, and you will have a choice to opt out. Otherwise, information will be used in accordance with the Privacy Notice in effect at the time it was collected.
Security
When our registration and order forms ask you to enter sensitive information (such as credit card number and/or social security number), that information is encrypted and is protected during transmission by Secure Socket Layer (SSL) software. You can check while on a secure page, such as an order form, by looking at the lock icon on the bottom of Web browsers such as Netscape Navigator® and Microsoft Internet Explorer®.
We reveal only the last five digits of your credit card number when confirming an order with you. During order processing, we transmit your credit card information to the appropriate agency using secure communications.
IntelliVentures and Netopia have adopted physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure your information during transmission and storage.

Surveys & Contests
From time to time, we may obtain information from you via surveys or contests. Participation in these surveys or contests is completely voluntary and you therefore have a choice whether or not to disclose this information. Information requested may include contact information (such as name and shipping address) and demographic information (such as zip code and age level). Contact information will be used to notify the winners and award prizes. Survey information will be used for purposes of monitoring or improving the use and satisfaction of our e-store.
Choice/Opt-out
You will be given the opportunity to "opt out" of having your information used for purposes not directly related to our site. For example, our order form has an opt-out mechanism, so if you buy a product from us but don't want to receive any marketing material, you can keep your email address off our lists. If you no longer wish to receive our newsletter or promotional materials from affiliated businesses, you can email us to opt out of receiving those communications.
