COURSE OBJECTIVE

The Medical Coding Specialist is designed to provide specialized training in medical coding and billing.  The main focus of the program is to enlighten the student in ICD-9 and CPT coding and legal and ethical issues in filing insurance claims.  The course of study begins with an introduction to Insurance Coding followed by an intense study of medical office, anesthesia, surgery, pathology and radiology coding.  Once the classroom studies are completed the student will be eligible to be employed in a medical office or a clinic  .  Therefore, the final objective is to produce a graduate capable of performing all the skills of the training program and a marketable individual.
