Fannie “Betty” E. Young, 72, of Asheville went home to her Father Tuesday, November 3, 2009. A native of Asheville, she was daughter of the late Louise Palmer and Charles Pritchard Miller, Sr. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, John McDonald Young who died May 1, 1994 and her brother, Claude B. Miller.

     Mrs. Young was a former member of ABWA and retired from Communication Instruments (CII Technologies).

     She is survived by her children, David McDonald Young and his wife, Ethel of Woodstock, GA, John Michael Young and his wife, Nancy of Asheville and Forrest Palmer of FL; her brothers, Robert Lee Miller, Sr of Arden and Charles P. Miller, Jr. and his wife, Marlena of Hendersonville; her grandchildren, David Michael Young and his wife, Sarah of Spartanburg, SC, Leslie Suzanne Young of Spartanburg, SC, John Martin Young, of NY, NY, Jason Young of Woodstock, GA, Jeremy Michael Young and his wife, Nicole of Fairview and Brittany Nicole Young of Asheville; seven great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

      A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM, Saturday, November 7, 2009 at the Church of the Redeemer Episcopal Church, 1201 Riverside Drive with Father Alex Hanks officiating. Interment will follow at Lewis Memorial Park, 415 Beaverdam Road. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 PM, Friday, November 6, 2009 at Morris Funeral Home, 304 Merrimon Avenue.
