Frank V. Schepis, 84, died Friday, Nov. 14, 2008 in the W.N.C. Baptist Home.  A native of Mt. Vernon, NY, he was son of the late Frank and Iva Johnson Schepis.  He was also preceded in death by the mother of his children, Ethel Foss, three sisters: Esther, Mary and Hulga.

     Mr. Schepis was a US Army Air Corp Veteran of WWII, where he served in aviation maintance while stationed in England.  He retired as a Claims Manager in the insurance industry and retired to Asheville in 1980.  Frank is survived by his wife of 39 years, Marilyn L. Schepis,

     In addition to his wife, he is survived by:  one son, Donald G. Schepis, of NV; two daughters: Marilyn J. Blackburn of Rochester, NY, and Nancy Schloesser of  Arden, NC; one step-son: Robert Burkhardt of Asheville; two step-daughters: Carol Lemons of Houston, TX, and Susan Lenz of Ann Arbor, MI; and five grandchildren.  

     A memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 17, 2008, at the First Baptist Church of Asheville of which he was a member.  The Rev. Eddie Morgan will officiate.  Interment will be in the W.N.C. State Veterans Cemetery, Black Mountain.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the Crouch Chapel.
