S. Olive Croswell, 90, of Asheville, passed away peacefully Tuesday, September 16, 2008, at Givens Health Care Center.  Born August 13, 1918 in Asheville, she was the daughter of the late Howard Bruce Croswell and Kathleen Kennedy Olive Croswell.

     She grew up in the historic Montford Park area of Asheville and graduated from Lee Edward High School.  After graduation she entered St. Genevieve Jr. College and after two years transferred to  Queens College in Charlotte, NC.  She served 32 years as a secretary to the Director of the Southeastern Forest Experimental Station, Asheville.

     She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Asheville.  A memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 24, 2008 in the Thomas Coke Chapel at Givens Estates.  The Rev. Joe Fulk will officiate the service.
