Mayo Barrie Tell, 79, of Wesley Dr., died Friday, Aug. 8, 2008, in the Givens Health Center. A native of Brooklyn, NY, he was son of the late Frances C. and David A. Tell.
Mr. Tell was a 1950 graduate of Rutgers University. He retired in 1989 from the Dayco and Day International Corporations as a Research Chemist. A U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict, he was seriously injured while participating in a rifle training exercise. Mr. Tell was a member of the Beth Israel Synagogue, the Disabled American Veterans, and various other organizations.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Charlotte L. Tell; a daughter, Lisa B. Tell, of Asheville; two sons: David A. Tell and his wife, Marci, of Chandler, AZ, and Samuel J. Tell and his wife, Helen, of Los Angeles, CA; five grandchildren: Jaden S., Daniel R., and Naomi L. Tell and Haley E. and Joelle E. Gillette.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Monday, Aug. 11, in the Beth Israel Synagogue. Rabbi Robert Cabelli will officiate. Interment will follow in the Lou Pollock Cemetery. The family will receive friends following the interment at Beth Israel Synagogue.
