Rita Elaine Campbell, 75, passed away on Monday, April 28, 2008, at Mission Hospital in Asheville.  Born December 3, 1932, in Birmingham, Alabama, she grew up in Greer, South Carolina and Miami, Florida, where she met her husband Claude Kenneth Campbell, who preceded her in death in 1984.

She was a member of the Asheville North Seventh-day Adventist Church, and served as its first treasurer.  She is survived by her son, Dennis Campbell, D.D.S., his wife Shellie and daughter Chelsea, of Asheville, North Carolina; her son Roy Campbell, Ph.D., his wife Audrey and son John, of Walla Walla, Washington; her sister June Gilmore and her husband John of Ocala, Florida; her brother John Mark Stewart and his wife Wanda, of Pensacola, Florida; 3 nephews and one niece.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, May 1, 2008, 7:00 p.m., at the Asheville North Seventh-day Adventist Church, 365 Broadway Street, Asheville.  Burial will be with her husband in Ocala, Florida.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the church building fund.
