Hendersonville-Louis S. Numann, 85, died Sunday, April 13, 2008 at the Pardee Care Center after a short illness.  He was a native of Quincy IL and a long time resident of Asheville and Hendersonville NC.  Louis was a veteran of the United States Air Force and was in New Guinea in the South Pacific and was awarded 3 Bronze Stars for his duty.  He also retired from McKesson Drug Company as a warehouse administrator.  He was a fourth degree in the Knights of Columbus and was very active in the Catholic War Veterans. He enjoyed gardening, playing golf and traveling with his wife Evelyn.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Delores Numann.

He is survived by his wife, Evelyn Numann of Hendersonville; two sons and a daughter-in-law: Mark Numann of Burlington, IA, Larry and Jodi Numann of Brookland, AR; a brother: Lindell Numann of Coleyville, TX; three sisters; Louise Menn of Arlington, VA, Lucille Azotea, of Quincy, IL, Lorena Wintjen of Savanna, TN, also 4 grandchildren and one great grandchild.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 19, 2008 at 10:30 AM at St. Barnabas Catholic Church in Arden, NC.  Inurnment will be at a later date at Western North Carolina State Veterans Cemetery at Black Mountain.
