Lois Virginia Whalen Myers, 85, passed away Thursday, March 6, 2008 at Fleshers Fairview Nursing Home. She was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on May 2nd, 1922 to John and Vera Vincent Whalen Mallory. In addition to her parents she is also preceded in by her husband, Earl F. Myers, their son, Earl F. Myers, Jr and her brother, Richard Whalen..
She is survived by her daughter, Charlene Myers and her 3 children; her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Paul and Loretta Reynolds, her sister-in-law, Mildred Reynolds; two nephews, Ron and Dan Reynolds and two grandnieces, Dasha Brown and Natalie Mizell.
Lois was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Esther Chapter. She and Earl were members of the Optimist Club and worked tirelessly with the Santa Pal Program. Together they had spent many years in local square dancing teams where they had won many awards.
A memorial service will be held at Calvary Episcopal Churchyard, 2840 Hendersonville Road, Fletcher, NC. 2:00 PM, Saturday, March 15th with Father Douglas Woofter of St. Timothy’s Anglican Church officiating. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Presbyterian Home for Children in Black Mountain, 80 Lake Eden Road, Black Mountain, NC 28711.
