Milner Alan Cummings of Asheville and Clearwater, FL, died February 14, 2008 at Brooks Howell Home.  Born in East St. Louis, IL on June 17, 1911, he attended the University of Illinois and served in the United States Air Force in World War II.

     In 1950, Milner settled his family in Clearwater and established a real estate and insurance partnership in which he was active until retirement.  He was a community and business leader in the Board of Realtors, Masonic Lodge, Lions Club, Rotary Club and Peace Memorial Presbyterian Church.

     Milner was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Josephine Wheeler Cummings.  Survivors include daughter Mary Cummings and husband, Mike Merchant, of Sanibel, FL; son, Mark Cummings and wife, Inky, of Crystal River, FL; daughter, JoAnn Hodshon and husband, Charlie, of Burnsville; brother, Charles F. Cummings and wife, Merrilee, of Vero Beach, FL; sister, Virginia Doubet of Peoria, IL; seven grandsons, three nieces and two nephews.
