James J. MacCallum, Esquire

Mr. MacCallum is the founder and owner of MacCallum and Associates, PLLC. Mr. MacCallum has practiced law for over 30 years. He spent 25 years as Senior Partner at Shaffer and Shaffer, PLLC, located in Madison, West Virginia, where he focused his practice on civil litigation in the areas of insurance defense, divorces, wills and trusts, real property acquisition and settlement, and criminal defense. Mr. MacCallum moved to Brunswick County, North Carolina, about seven years ago and formed Cox and MacCallum, PLLC, focusing on real estate settlement, wills and trusts, corporate formation, divorces, and general civil litigation. Mr. MacCallum served as a Member of the West Virginia State Board of Education for 14 years and served as President of the Board three separate terms. Mr. MacCallum also served a term as President of the West Virginia State Bar while practicing in West Virginia. Mr. MacCallum currently resides in Bolivia, North Carolina, with his wife Sue.
Patrick N. Dillon, Esquire

Mr. Dillon joined MacCallum and Associates, PLLC in 2006. He received his Bachelors of Science in Business Administration from the West Virginia University College of Business and Economics and his Doctor of Jurisprudence from West Virginia University College of Law. Mr. Dillon focuses his practice in the areas of land use planning, zoning, governmental permitting, commercial acquisition and development, contract drafting and litigation, residential settlement, commercial and retail leasing, landlord tenant, corporate formation and consulting, tax deferred exchange structuring and implementation, and timeshare registration. Mr. Dillon serves as counsel to many national and regional real estate developers across southeastern North Carolina. Mr. Dillon is a frequent lecturer in the areas of IRS Section 1031 tax deferred exchanges and is a co-founder of Brunswick Exchange Services, LLC, a qualified intermediary company for IRS Section 1031 Exchanges. Mr. Dillon is a native of Madison, West Virginia, and currently resides in Leland, North Carolina.
