What can I expect from a transplant with Dr. Koher?
Hair transplants can certainly thicken up a thin area or put hair where there is a bald spot. Individuals with Traction Alopecia as well as those who have had a facelift, benefit greatly from a hair transplant that refines a hairline which has been altered.
So, as long as the female has a clear view of her specific needs, it can be a very valuable service that will be a permanent solution for that individual.
Can I color, perm or cut my hair before or after a hair transplant?
The best way to handle this situation is to have your hair colored, premeds, or cut a week to two weeks prior to surgery. After the surgery, Dr. Koher asks his patients to be at least six weeks prior to coloring, perming or cutting their hair. But this should be discussed with Dr., Koher prior to having surgery done.
Does Dr. Koher transplant eyebrows?
Dr. Koher has done multiple eyebrow transplants. He feels that most people underestimate the importance of eyebrows in framing the face, drawing attention to the eyes, and communicating through facial expressions.
Have you ever seen a person that looked odd but you could not immediately determine what gave you that feeling? Most people totally ignore eyebrows on themselves and other people until they are gone. Then you get that nagging, something missing feeling. Check the eyebrows!
Eyebrow hair loss can occur for many reasons. Some of the most common are as follows:
~Physical trauma such as cuts or burns.
~Excessive plucking, both intentionally to reshape the eyebrows or unintentional
plucking such as Trichotillomania which is a compulsive hair plucking disorder.
~Genetics
~Medical treatments like radiation therapy or chemotherapy
~Various systemic diseases or hormonal imbalances
The problem with other eyebrow replacement techniques is esthetics. Eyebrow pencils and tattooing cannot duplicate the texture of real hair. Dont get any closer than ten feet to a person with tattooed eyebrows and they might look real. Dr. Koher is experienced in eyebrow transplants for both men and women. He can show you before and after pictures of his work. Eyebrow hairs grow in many different directions in a small area so precision and experience is critical.
The procedure does not take as long as replacing a hairline or filling in a crown. As usual it is done under local anesthetic in a relaxed, comforting environment. After a few hours, you have the beginning of permanent, natural eyebrows once again.
