Piedmont Health Center was started in 1986 by Dr. Janet Dey. She began her medical career in nursing and then became an emergency room physician. She has worked with hundreds of patients, treating all types of illnesses. Dr. Dey attended Bethune-Cookman College in Daytona Beach, FL. She studied pre-med and received a Bachelor's in biology and psychology. In 1976, she graduated from Baylor in Nursing. She then attended Meharry Medical College in Nashville, TN. Dr. Dey completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Emory University. She worked ten years as an emergency room physician while starting her own practice.
