About Us
Hillbilly's BBQ & Steaks at 720 McAdenville Road, in Lowell was opened in June 1989. Gerald Duncan and Chris Earle were the owners and operators. In 1991, the Hillbilly's BBQ & Steaks on 930 E. Garrison Blvd. in Gastonia was opened by Gerald and Chris.
Both Gerald and Chris grew up learning the barbecue business as early as 15 years old and decided to open up their own business together as friends and as partners when Gerald was only 21 years old and Chris was 27 years old.
Great food and good prices was their mission from the very beginning. Today that is still the mission and will always be. In May 2001, Gerald Duncan bought Chris Earle's part of Hillbilly's BBQ & Steaks. Gerald Duncan is the sole owner and operator of both locations.
