Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Monday, November  09, 2009 at Greene Funeral Service - West Chapel in Gastonia.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, at the funeral home following the visitation with Rev. Lamar Creel   officiating. 
Entombment will be in Gaston Memorial Park in Gastonia.

Jerry Jarvis Smith Jr.

Jerry Jarvis Smith Jr., 44, of  317 Andrew Circle,  Gastonia , passed away  Thursday, October 29,  2009 at Gaston Memorial Hospital.

He was born in Haywood , County, NC on December 27, 1964, son of the late Jerry Jarvis Smith Sr. and the late Shirley Scates Smith.
He was amateur radio operator KI4TDM.

 In addition to his  parents,  he was preceded in death by his brothers, Don and Gary Cunningham.

 Survivors include his sister and brother-in-law, Vicki Cabe and husband, Roger and nephew, Victor Cabe. 

 A memorial service will be held  at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 07, 2009  at   Greene Funeral Service - South Chapel officiated by Dr. Conley Matlock.

 Visitation will follow the Memorial Service  on Saturday at the funeral home.

 Interment is private.

William Charles Clampett

William Charles Clampett, 61,  of  Bessemer City,  passed away Tuesday, November 03, 2009 at his residence.

He was born in Clover, SC on April 26, 1948, son of the late William Thomas Clampett and the late Lola Mae Fortner Clampett.

Mr. Clampett was a member of Temple Baptist Church in Gastonia.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Rhonda Clampett Waldrop.

Survivors include his wife, Anna Carter Clampett of the home; son, William Danny Clampett of Bessemer City; daughters and son-in-law,  Billie Jo Clampett Briggs and husband, Gary of Gastonia, Tammy Clampett of Bessemer City; brothers, Troy Clampett of Gastonia, Lonnie Clampett of Lake City, Fla; sisters, Lassie Crawford of  Newport News,  Va.,  Betty Sawyer of Myrtle Beach, SC, Margrette Laugheed of Gastonia;                    
 eleven grandchildren and two  great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, November 6, 2009 at  Temple Baptist Church in Gastonia with  Rev. James Lowery officiating.

Visitation will be from  7 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Thursday, November 5, 2009 at  Greene Funeral Service - West Chapel in Gastonia.

Interment will  be in Gaston Memorial Park in Gastonia.

Sheila Dees Nanney, 55, of 404 N. Grover St. Gastonia. passed away Monday, November 2nd, 2009 at Gaston Memorial Hospital
She was born May 12, 1954 in Gaston County, daughter of the late Henry Wesley and Dorothy McTaggart Dees.
She was a member of Westview Baptist Church, Gastonia.
Sheila loved Atlanta Braves Baseball, working in flower gardens and children.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 am on Thursday at Greene Funeral Service, South Chapel, Gastonia
officiated by Rev. Dean Reynolds.
Interment will be at Gaston Memorial Pasrk, Gastonia.
A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the funeral home.

She is survived by her husband of 38 years, William C. Nanney of the home; sons and daughters in-law,
Steven and Beverly Dees,   Wesley and Chelle Nanney all of Gastonia; brother and sister in-law, Charles and Sandra McTaggart of Tennessee; sisters and brothers in-law, Nancy and Steve Long of Lincolnton, Annita  and Rocky Thomason of York, SC; grandchildren, Ashley Petrie, Christinia Danielle Nanney, Lindsey Dees, Stephanie Nanney, Payton Teague, Jackson Renn, Kevin Brown, Kirk Brown.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sisters, Sharon Dees Almond Burgess and Jeanne Dees Scott.

Joyce Ann Price, 67, of 507 S. Oakland St. Gastonia. passed away Monday, November 2nd, 2009 at her residence. She was born September 3, 1942 in Gastonia, daughter of the late Myrtle Elizabeth Porter.

A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm on thursday at Greene Funeral Service, South Chapel, Gastonia
officiated by Rev. James Chambers.
Interment will be at Gaston Memorial Park, Gastonia
A visitation will be held 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Wednesday at the funeral home.

She is survived by her mother in-law, Nellie Price of the home;  son, Daniel Lee Allen of Gastonia; brothers in-law and sisters in-law; Dennis and Kim Price, Sam and Joyce Stewart, Johnny and Debra Dunn, Kimberly Tilley all of Gastonia; numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her mother she was preceded in death by her husband, Mike Price.
