Barry A. Friedman
Barry A. Friedman is the Firm's owner and Managing Partner. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Alabama in 1972 and a Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Alabama School of Law in 1975. The same year, he was admitted to the Alabama State Bar, and following that, in 1979, Mr. Friedman was admitted to the Bar of the United States Supreme Court.
Mr. Friedman also served in the United States Air Force Reserves from 1970 through 1976, receiving an honorable discharge.
He has served on the Panel of Trustees of the Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Alabama for fifteen years.
Currently, Mr. Friedman is a member of the Commercial Law League, the National Association of Retail Collection Attorneys, the Alabama State Bar and the Mobile County Bar, where he has held various committee offices, including past Chairman of the Bankruptcy and Grievance Committees.

Joshua D. Friedman, Barry A. Friedman's son, was admitted to the Alabama State Bar in September 2008.
Mr. Friedman earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Human Environmental Sciences from the University of Alabama in 2003. He received his Juris Doctorate in 2008 from Thomas Goode Jones School of Law where, in addition to his regular schooling, he successfully completed 20 hours of mediation training and fulfilled the necessary coursework to receive his mediation certificate. Mr. Friedman also served as Public Relations Chair for Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity while in school.
In addition to being admitted to the Alabama State Bar, Mr. Friedman was admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of Alabama in 2008 as well. Mr. Friedman was also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Courts for the Southern, Middle, and Northern Districts of Alabama in 2008.
Mr. Friedman is an active member of the Mobile, Alabama, and American Bar Associations, and is also a member of the Young Lawyers Sections in those Associations. Mr. Friedman was appointed to the Mobile Bar Association, Young Lawyers Executive Committee for the 2009-2010 and the 2010-2011 term. Most recently, Mr. Friedman was elected as Treasurer of the Mobile Bar Association, Young Lawyers Committee for the upcoming 2011 terms. Mr. Friedman also sits as Chair to the Mobile Bar Association, Entertainment Committee for the 2010-2011 term.
Mr. Friedman is a member of both the Lawyer Referral Program as well as the Volunteer Lawyers Program for the Mobile Bar Association, where he is an active member of the Board of Directors for the current three year term. He is also a member of the Mobile Bar Association, Bankruptcy Committee, Solo and Small Firm Section, and Domestic Relations Committee.
Mr. Friedman is an Associate with Barry A. Friedman & Associates, P.C. in Mobile, Alabama. Mr. Friedman focuses his practice on general litigation matters, including Bankruptcy, Business Law, Contract Disputes, Collections, Commercial Litigation, Corporate Law, and Family Law consisting of child support, child custody, and divorce.
Mr. Friedman and his wife, along with their two sons, are active members in their community as well as the UMS-Wright community. In his free time, Mr. Friedman enjoys saltwater fishing and playing sports with his children and is an avid Alabama football fan.
