WE ARE HERE TO HELP!
We meet you where you are in your addiction.
Once you have made the decision to enroll at The Fernwood House, we will do everything possible to streamline the admission process. You are welcome to contact us at any time to begin the admission process or to receive additional program information that will help you make your decision.
Please have the following information available to help us expedite you (or your loved one’s) admission:
- Your (the client’s) name, date of birth, and contact information
- Substance use and treatment history
- A list of current medications
- Guarantor’s name and contact information
- Other information such as relevant medical history, legal issues, etc
Once the initial screening is completed and you (or your loved one) is accepted into the program, our staff will schedule your intake and admission as soon as possible. The Fernwood House accepts admissions seven days per week.
What to bring:
- Several changes of clothes. All clothing must be appropriate and not reflect alcohol and/or drug use or be indicative of such lifestyles
- One shirt, necktie, and pants for graduation ceremonies
- Swimsuit
- Clothes for working out
- Toiletry items and shaving kit
- Alarm clock (Radio alarm clocks are acceptable)
- Writing pad, pen(s), envelopes, and stamps
- Long-distance calling card
- Valid driver’s license or ID card, social security card, and/or official copy of birth certificate (required of Halfway House residents)
- $100 spending money
- Fernwood House provides all laundry aids, linens, pillows, bath towels, and wash cloths
What not to bring:
- Ear rings, nose rings, or other piercing jewelry
- CD players, CDs, stereos, I-Pods, etc
- Laptop computers
- Cell phones
- Reading material not related to AA or NA for the initial 30-day treatment
- Food, beverages, candy, chewing gum, or mouthwash
The above items will be confiscated and stored in a secure location if brought to admission. Other items that will be stored include spending money, credit, or debit cards and wallets.
Recommended Airports:
The Fernwood House staff will provide transportation for prospective clients from either the Jackson Airport (Mississippi) or the New Orleans Louis Armstrong International Airport, at no charge.
