- 1 in 4 children have some type of vision problem.
- If vision problems are not caught and treated early, long-term decreased vision is possible.
- Glasses are very stylish today.
- An eye exam is recommended every year for all children starting at age 5 years, or sooner if you suspect a problem.
- Adults should have their eyes examined at least every 2 years.
- Screenings done by schools and pediatricians are just vision screenings and do not consider all aspects of visual function and eye health. Everyone needs a comprehensive eye exam by an eye doctor.
