Spay and Neuter Services

Female animals are spayed by removing their reproductive organs, and male pets are neutered by having their testicles removed. In our office, these procedures are performed while your pet is under general anesthesia for their comfort. We administer pain medication as necessary for your pet's comfort as well.

In most cases, your pet can go home the same day. We recommend spaying and neutering for dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, and ferrets.

Dental Care

Did you know your companion animal needs dental care too? Healthy teeth and gums can help your pet live a longer, healthier life. The buildup of tartar can lead to gingivitis, a painful gum infection which can eventually lead to endocarditis (heart valve infection) and pyelonephritis (severe kidney infection).

We recommend each pet be evaluated at each office visit to determine if he or she needs dental cleaning. We have the latest dental cleaning equipment available to veterinarians today, including an ultrasonic drill. Our equipment can help each dental cleaning last longer and make dental cleaning easier for your pet. Dental cleaning usually consists of scaling and polishing the teeth, but may also include tooth extractions and antibiotic therapy when necessary.

Your pet's comfort before, during, and after a dental cleaning is also very important to us. That is why we provide appropriate pain medication during and after each dental visit. During the dental procedure, your pet will be under general anesthesia; therefore we recommend that each animal receive at least a Complete Blood Count and Biochemical Screen to assess the safety of anesthesia for your pet. IV fluids may be administered during your pet's dental cleaning as necessary.
