MOVING TIPS

Plan ahead-book your move well in advance to secure date requested
Do certain tasks ahead of time-drain washer/clean out refrigerator or freezer/drain waterbeds
Pack phone books & other papers that may be needed in separate box & mark "OPEN FIRST"
Check for insurance coverage-moving companies offer additional insurance, but check with homeowner's first-some carry transit insurance to cover damages when moving
If you are packing-label all boxes-this cuts down on time when unloading-to have boxes placed in rooms you want
Make sure mover has new address and any contact numbers you have-they need to be able to get in touch with you
Make sure you have contacted all utilities, phone company, cable company and make arrangements to have them turned off or transfer & also make arrangements at destination.
Send change of address to your bank, creditors, magazine/newspaper, utility companies and friends
Payment arrangements should be discussed
Be sure to transfer records for hospital/doctors, driver's license, school records, auto registrations

APPLIANCES

APPLIANCES

HOW DO I PREPARE MY REFRIGERATOR FOR MOVING?
We request that you disconnect your refrigerator or freezer. They should be unplugged and left open to dry out. This can take a day or two. But needs to be done before we come to load. The reasoning is because of the water or moisture that remains can damage other items. Washers need to be disconnected/hoses removed from spouts and drained, dryers need to be disconnected and hoses removed from back of machine and also the wall.
