Burkett Cardiovascular Associates specializes in general cardiology, lipid management, cardiac catheterization, critical care, percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty (balloon angioplasty), coronary athrectomy (rotoblator), coronary stenting, myocardial biopsy, exercise treadmill stress testing, nuclear stress testing, echocardiography, 2-D echo Doppler, transesopheagal echo, stress echo, carotid and peripheral vascular ultrasound, vascular exercise treadmill testing, holter and ECG event monitoring, electrophysiology, including radio frequency ablation of arrhythmias, permanent cardiac pacemaker, implantable defibrillators and bi-ventricular pacemakers to treat heart failure. The practice is currently expanding to include the acquisition of a 64 slice multi-detector cardiac CT.
HISTORY
David G. Burkett, M. D., F.A.C.C., F.S.C.A.I. opened his practice of cardiovascular medicine in Monroe , Louisiana in August of 1988 specializing in interventional procedures. Since February 2001, the practice has been located at 1811 Glenmar Ave., Monroe, Louisiana . In July 2004, Scott Burkett, M.D., F.A.C.P. joined his father in the practice of cardiology, specializing in the electrical diseases of the heart (electrophysiology). Both physicians are ABIM Certified in Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular Disease.
