We begin pickup at 7:00 AM. We recommend that you take your cart to the curb the night before your service to ensure you will not miss us. Athens-Clarke County ordinance requires carts not to be taken to the curb before 6:00 PM the day before service and must be removed by 12:00 PM the day after service. Please bag and tie all garbage to help keep your cart clean and prevent loose garbage from falling out and littering the streets.

Curbside Services, Inc. encourages you to recycle. We accept the following items:

NEWSPAPERS–Include inserts that come with your paper.
CLEAN PAPER BAGS
PAPERBOARD BOXES–(such as cereal and shoe boxes) Include boxes that are gray, brown or white inside.
MAGAZINES, CATALOGS, and TELEPHONE BOOKS–Remove plastic “shrink wraps”
OFFICE PAPER–Include all colors of computer paper, notebook paper, letterhead and envelopes.
JUNK MAIL–Include advertisements, brochures and fliers.
CARDBOARD BOXES–Flatten boxes. Larger boxes should be flattened and stacked (no more than 3 feet wide by 2 feet tall) and tied with twine or string and placed next to your bin.
Please keep paper items dry.
ALUMINUM–Soda cans, foil and food trays.
STEEL, BI-METAL AND TIN CANS–Such as food cans.
GLASS BOTTLES AND JARS–Clear, brown, blue and green glass bottles and jars.
PLASTIC BOTTLES-Bottles with a 1 through 7 on the bottom. Remove caps/lids. No Plastic Bags or Motor Oil Bottles
DRINK BOXES–Remove straws and flatten.
MILK AND JUICE CARTONS–Remove caps and flatten.
EMPTY AEROSOL CANS–Make sure the cans are empty and the plastic lids are removed.
Please rinse bottles, cans, and drink boxes.

All bottles, cans, and drink boxes must be washed out and have the lids/caps removed. We are forced to treat any items that do not meet the above standards as garbage. We are unable to accept any paper items such as paper towels, facial tissues, shredded or torn up papers, Styrofoam cups or packing peanuts. Plastic items such as plastic bags, motor oil bottles, or used cellophane wrap are not recyclable items. Tires or batteries are not items that can be recycled by Curbside Services, Inc.
