What is Chiropractic?
Chiropractic is based on the scientific facts that the body’s self-healing and self-regulating abilities are controlled by the brain, spinal cord, and nerves.

Why should I visit the chiropractor?
Chiropractic care may help if you suffer from headaches, fatigue, sleep problems, sinus problems, allergies, irritability, or pain anywhere in the body.

What do chiropractic doctors do?
Chiropractic doctors begin with a case history: surgeries, injuries, accidents, onset of condition, and severity of symptoms.  After x-rays, the doctor will determine treatment plans.  Sometimes a referral to a medical doctor is necessary.  The chiropractor can adjust the biomechanics of the spine and improve nervous system function.

How does Chiropractic work?
Chiropractic care works by restoring the body’s own ability to be healthy.  The position of the 24 moving bones of the spinal column can affect the function of the nervous system.  Chiropractic may have a positive effect on some health conditions not commonly thought of as “back” problems.

Am I too old for chiropractic care?
More and more people are visiting chiropractors in their later years.  Chiropractic care is growing in popularity with older patients.  Concerns with over-medicating and the side effects of combining various prescription drugs are some of the reasons.  The doctor will adjust the techniques for comfort and results.

What type of education do chiropractic doctors get?
The curriculum of chiropractic school is similar to that of medical and dentistry.  Chiropractic coursework emphasizes anatomy, physiology, neurology, pathology, spinal adjustment techniques, biomechanics, and other related courses.

Is chiropractic care safe?
The safety record for chiropractic is excellent.  Chiropractic care has proven to be a safe and effective natural approach to better health.

Why do children need chiropractic care?

Children engage in many activities that result in falls or injuries and they may benefit from chiropractic care.

How long will I need chiropractic care?
Treatment times vary, depending on the individual and the condition.

Are chiropractors real doctors?
Yes.  Doctors of chiropractic complete a four year postgraduate degree, the same as doctors of medicine and doctors of dentistry.

Does insurance cover chiropractic care?
Most insurance companies do cover chiropractic care.  We also accept private pay.

Will it hurt?
Sometimes there is some discomfort.  However, most patients are in pain BEFORE treatment begins.  Every effort is made to make treatment as comfortable as possible.

Why do I need x-rays?
X-rays assist the doctor in diagnosing and determining the course of treatment.  X-rays may also tell if a referral to a medical doctor is needed, so that the best possible care is given.

What conditions are improved with chiropractic care?
Headaches, fatigue, sleep problems, sinus and allergy problems, irritability, and body pain may all be relieved by chiropractic care.
