Barnes Drapery & Floor Covering, Inc. is Orlando's oldest family-owned flooring and window covering store. Its roots go back to 1926 when Lincoln Barnes moved to Orlando and started working for Dickson & Ives department store on the corner of Orange Avenue and Central. Originally in the toy department, Mr. Barnes was made manager of the third floor, Carpet and Maternity, where he worked from 1930 to 1952. He was the first male manager to work on this floor.
 

  

 
 

In 1952 Mr. Barnes retired from Dickson & Ives Department Store and opened Barnes Drapery & Floor Covering, Inc. He retired on a Friday and his store was opened the following Monday - he never missed a day of work!

Upon his death on March 10, 1991, Mr. Lincoln Barnes' sons, William and Bob, continued the operation of Barnes Drapery & Floor Covering.

The Barnes brothers continue the tradition of excellence in serving the people of Orlando that was started so long ago. Barnes Drapery and Floor Coverings still has the finest collection of window and floor treatments available and the most professional service and installation teams.

As an example of our quality, we feature Karastan carpet. Very few dealers are authorized by Karastan because their requirements on quality, service, and installation are so rigorous that few pass. We are proud of this accomplishment.
