About Us
In 1965, Frank and Geneva Barnhill met while working in a jewelry store in Atlanta. In 1966 they married, had three wonderful children and now have three terrific grandchildren. In 1978 their dream came true when they opened their own jewelry business. Today, their jewelry store is one of the nicest in the South, and has been in the same location in Dunwoody since 1982.
In 1996 Frank realized a strong demand for low interest jewelry collateral loans, and opened Avalon Jewelry & Loans. Today, in their new showroom and offices, Frank and his son Mike have helped thousands of people in need of low interest loans, who want to use their jewelry and watches as collateral.
Frank is a Gemologist, trained by the Gemologist Institute of America and Mike is a Master Jeweler. All jewelry items are professionally appraised in the customer’s presence in a private office and the maximum amount loaned, with only a small interest charged. We specialize in Estate, Antique & Designer Jewelry, pre-owned Rolex and Fine Watches.
