Test Results and Referral Appointments
If your physician has ordered routine lab tests, x-rays, procedures or specialty consults, please give our staff seven days to contact you with the results or referral information. Pap smear results may take up to three to five weeks. You will be advised of normal results by mail. If there is a concern or abnormal result, the physician will contact you by phone. Some test results will be reviewed by follow-up appointment. It is the patient's responsibility to provide our office with current contact information. If you have not heard from us in seven days, please call our office and leave a message inquiring about the status of your results. It is our policy to not leave test results on a patient's voice mail.
Medications and Prescription Refills
Please try to anticipate the need for medications. Refill requests should be made at least one week in advance. The most expeditious way to obtain a refill is to call your pharmacy first and request that a refill authorization be faxed to our office. This will provide the details required and reduce the phone tag among you, our office and the pharmacy's voice mail system. It will reduce the amount of time you have to wait for the refill. If there is a question or concern, we will contact you. Please allow 48 hours to process the request, and then check with your pharmacy. New antibiotic requests are not filled by telephone, so you will need to call and schedule an appointment.
