Doc and DogWe see our canine patients twice a year.
During our canine annual visit, blood is drawn for an occult heartworm test and a stool specimen is taken and examined under a microscope for intestinal parasites. We vaccinate annually to protect your dog from such diseases as rabies, distemper, hepatitis, leptospirosis, coronavirus, parvovirus, and bordatella.

Our veterinarians will thoroughly check your pet from head to toe including a dental exam. Did you know that good dental health dictates a long and healthy life for your pet?

Harry We see our feline patients once a year.

During our feline annual visit, blood is drawn for an occult heartworm test, (yes, cats get heartworms too!) and a stool specimen is taken and examined under a microscope for intestinal parasites. We vaccinate annually to protect your cat from such diseases as rabies, herpes, calici, panleukopenia, feline leukemia and feline bordatella.

We see our puppies and kittens frequently in the first six months of their lives.

Beginning six weeks to eight weeks old, it is very important that puppies and kittens are given the proper inoculations to bolster their immune system. We will insure that your puppy or kitten is completely covered with a good foundation consisting of vaccines, heartworm & flea prevention and spay/neuter.

Our old friends – Geriatric Profiles

Just as we get older, so do our pets. It is important that your pet continue their regular visits to monitor their well-being as they grow older. We recommend a “baseline” blood work profile. This helps us to gauge basic kidney and liver functions while screening for early warning signs of diabetes or renal disease. Many conditions brought about by old age can be alleviated by diet modification or medication if caught in early stages.

Erica Boarding Facility

Our boarding facility is spacious and climate controlled. We feed nutritious Science Diet® food and doctor approved treats. Your canine companions are walked to your specifications but no less than 3 times per day. Your feline companions are housed in our quiet feline area where they are treated to daily catnip and a cozy environment.

Beagle Girl Bathing and Grooming

We offer a thorough cleaning for both canine and feline companions, including a nail clip. With a spritz of cologne your pet is sent home smelling fresh and clean. Please let us know if your pet needs any additional services at this time. We will be happy to give a medicated bath, tend to the anal glands or do a thorough doctor supervised ear cleaning.

Ark Animal Hospital’s Recommendations for Healthy Pet Care: Clementine
  • Spay/neuter your pet. Puppies and kittens can be spayed or neutered early in order to avoid spraying and early heat. There are many health benefits associated with spaying and neutering, including a lower incident of breast and uterine cancer in females and a lower incident of prostate and testicular cancer in males.

  • Annual check-ups. Many health problems can be either reduced or eliminated if caught early on.
Prevention is the key to good health.

  • Proper diet. We will discuss proper nutrition and amount for your pet to keep them lean and healthy.
