Transmission fluid is a transparent red when in good condition. If the fluid is muddy brown or black, you should get your vehicle checked as soon as possible.
  2. Be Mindful Of Any Unusual Noises – If you have any strange noises or vibrations, have your vehicle checked out immediately.
  3. Check For Leaks – Create a routine schedule for inspecting under your car for leaks. The reddish color of transmission fluid should make it very easy to spot if you have a leak. Remember, if the fluid goes below the recommended level you are in danger of serious transmission damage.
  4. Know The Warning Signs Of A Bad Transmission – If you experience any of the following, bring your vehicle to us as soon as possible.
    • Engine sounds like it's running, but the vehicle doesn't move.

    • Your standard transmission is noisy and/or hard to shift.
  5. Problems Shifting – If your manual transmission shudders when you shift, if you have to strain to change gears or if you hear noise when you shift, bring it to us immediately.
  6. Preventive Maintenance – Make sure you are bringing your vehicle in to get service according to the manufacturer's recommendation. A transmission's parts get clogged the same way an engine can.
