FAQ

AIR CONDITIONERS

Our certified technicians will provide solutions for many of the problems and deficiencies you may be encountering with your current system. The coils on the front of the air conditioner are frosting up ... why is this occurring?

This is a very common sign that the air conditioner should be brought into a repair shop for servicing. A common problem maker is a dirty condenser coil inside the a/c. This should be cleaned, the fan motor oiled and a new filter installed.

My air conditioner does not seem to be blowing any air and is just making a "humming" sound; why?

It is a possibility that the fan motor has seized up and needs replacing. This happens quite often.

Water is leaking inside my room from the front of the air conditioner; why is it doing this?

The evaporator coils on the front of the air conditioner create water, which normally goes through a drain system to the back of the unit where the water is evaporated away. In this case, the drain is probably plugged and the water is running towards the front instead of the back and leaking out. This is another sign that it is time to bring the a/c into a repair shop for a full cleaning.

Why do air ducts need cleaning?

Dust, pollen, mold spores, fibers, hair, paper dust, and more are drawn into your HVAC system. 95% of these particles pass through the air filter(s), hiding in the air duct system and air handling equipment. This build-up can reduce airflow up to 50%. The air ducts are breeding areas for bacteria and mold that cause many people to suffer from allergies or respiratory stress.

How often should this be done?

The air duct system should be cleaned every three to five years. For allergy sufferers, this needs to be done annually.
